Report
A moderate Easterly wind combined with -6°c at the Daylodge made for a bitterly cold day, so wrap up very well over the coming days.
CairnGorm was exceptionally quiet, as is often the case the weekend prior to Christmas with all but occasionally the Cas T-bar ski straight on. Daylodge Poma more sheltered with better visibility, and some pockets of very nice windblown powder around the Daylodge Glades, but also very icy patches and some exploration to find the most enjoyable lines was called for.
Higher up flat light and poor visibility made the constantly varying surface conditions more of a challenge. The base is hard packed and icy in places, all over is a mix of windblown fresh and scoured base. Sharpen those edges!
