Tomorrow (Monday 25th April) is your last chance for lift served riding on CairnGorm Mountain for the 2011 Season - it's closing day.
Should be a mostly fine day, increasing brightness and sunny spells for the afternoon - so get up for one last slide.
The Ptarmigan Tow is running for the Ptarmigan Bowl and the Terrain Park contains 1 small pipe jib, 1 large pipe jib, 1 flat-down-flat box, 1 wide short rail and 3 narrow rails including a fairly brutal looking down-flat-down! Also a pond skimming pond, for if the sun comes out and you need to cool down.
For those prepared to put in some leg work, the Ciste Gully continues to provide a decent longer run with good spring snow. Some chose to ride down Coire Cas at the end of the day, but quite a bit of walking is required, firstly to the top corner of the Traverse.
The Traverse itself has been dug out for summer vehicle access - so go carefully, a short walk is required over to the Upper Cas. Though getting patchy it was possible to ski the Upper Cas except the road crossing, thereafter it was complete to near the bottom of the Gunbarrel - you can reach the bottom of the Cas Tow on snow, but only if you have a death wish!
With that note, play safely - Patrol don't want to end the season with a busy day!
See you on the slopes for a final slide on Monday.
