High pressure will see out 2025, so no change in the limited snow cover before the turn of the year, when forecast models increasingly point to a cold unsettled period.
What that does mean is 3 more days of fine weather to get some festive season sledging in at the Glencoe Sledge Park by the Plateau Cafe.
Sledging and use of the magic carpet is included with chairlift tickets - if you are bringing younger children, the sledging slope has been much quieter before about 11.30am and the Access Chair is open at 9am. For sledging it is advisable to arrive no later than 2pm to get a reasonable amount of time on the mountain. Last chairlift down is currently 4pm due to the short mid-winter days.
Unfortunately not enough snow yet to use the Plateau Magic Carpet for teaching snowsports, but beginner lessons are available on the frosty dry slope at the base which now also has its own magic carpet.
