After a soggy turn during the seeding runs on Saturday, the weather largely held off with just some brief showers on Sunday for the all important single race runs. These brought forward by an hour due to a forecast for a significant wind rise into the evening and it was a good call as it turned into a fairly horrible evening!
Reid Simpson won the Open Youth category with the day's overall fastest time of 2m 23.036s, with 2 other riders crossing the line sub 2m 24s - Junior Open winner Elliot Smith pipping Taylor Vernon to the 2nd fastest lap of the day.
Next time you get on the Access Chair just contemplate those times, 1000ft of vertical, the full length of the Access Chair in under 2 1/2 minutes !
On the female side Emily Carrick-Anderson posted the fast time of the day at 2m 52s.
All bike tracks and bike uplift reopen on Monday morning, but note both downhill tracks will be closed on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th July for Float the Highlands. The downhill tracks will reopen at lunchtime on Sunday 5th July with afternoon tickets available from the ticket office. The XC trails on the mountain will be open all weekend.
