A stunning day in the West Highlands, just a shame this settled weather hadn't come in 12 to 24 hours sooner at the end of last week, because the spring corn snow on the upper mountain is simply sublime.
Alas turns will now have to be earned from the top of the Access Chair. There is no point trying to skin up anything left on the mid mountain, easiest route is the loop round via the Plateau Cafe (which is open 10 to 3pm daily through Mon 4th May) and up the track past the Rannoch Chair onto the top leg of Mugs Alley.
The weather for sightseeing, sledging and mountain disc golf look to be as good as it gets over the coming days. With a new snow factory unit undergoing installation stress testing - snow making will continue up to the bank holiday weekend, so the sledge park remains in good shape despite the rising spring temperatures.
