Coire Pollach Tow was popular for easier turns today on softening skier packed / pisted snow.

Heading for the Haggis Trap on the Main Basin - don't worry, you can bypass it using the bottom of Happy Valley!

A dry and fairly bright, but fairly hazy / overcast Easter Monday at Glencoe, gave way to clearing skies with Meall a' Bhuiridh basking in the evening spring sunshine, setting the scene for a largely bluebird and increasingly warm Tuesday!

Though the mountain forecasts have strong SE winds, that is Glencoe 's favoured wind direction, so expecting only moderate wind on the hill. The breeze will add to the affect of the strong spring sunshine reflecting of the snow (while masking the effect), so it will definitely be a day for decent factor suncream and shades.

Snow was a softening mix of machine groomed and skier packed snow by Monday afternoon with the areas of breakable crust evident on Sunday having softened away.

With the rapid rise in temperature expected on Tuesday, areas which have fresh snow and been less trafficked will likely start the day rather sticky. The morning's groomed runs and the most heavily skied areas on Monday will give the best riding, with the more recent snow already getting churned up with the older base, so will quickly become more granular spring snow.

A bit more gradient on days like Tuesday will help too, the kind of day that the Spring Run truly comes into its own. The Main Basin having been the most heavily skied area on Monday and being pisted each morning should be great from the get go also.

Both the Plateau Poma and Coire Pollach Tow were running on Monday, but there is little base on the Plateau area away from Old Mugs Alley, so these will thin out as the day goes on. On the upper mountain and the Wall where there is a robust base, the warmth on Tuesday will bring little difference to the extent of the skiable cover.

Current forecast trends are for cooler temperatures and mountain snow to return later in the week.

Summer in Scotland is great, this year it's a Tuesday. Don't miss it!
