Next week we start the second leg of the Warren Miller Ski Film Tour in Scotland, find out more at warrenmiller.scot.
It was a very cold and blustery day at Glencoe with snow showers coming in through the day, but some brighter interludes in-between. Given the cold air temperature, around -5°c at mid-mountain level the snow was very powdery and last night not much stuck due to the strength of the wind on Meall a' Bhuiridh.
A bit more has stuck during the day as the wind was not so severe and the mountain was looking whiter at dusk. Evidence in the carpark and radar returns suggest around 3 inches has fallen since dusk with more expected overnight, but the wind speed is also forecast to ratchet back up as it veers from Westerly to North West, then later in the night round to Northern as a low pressure tracks to the North.
So it really is a case of wait and see what happens tonight and during Friday. At dusk there wasn't enough snow for uplift to open for snowsports, but there is a chance that could change. Keep an eye on the webcams.
