Report
Glencoe got up and running on Wednesday with a limited area off the Plateau Poma. A still quite rare pre-New Year opening day at Glencoe.
On Thursday the Cliffhanger Chairlift is scheduled to run and that will provide access to the full length of Mugs Alley for more confident intermediates and provide advanced skiers and borders with access to the Wall (red). The Wall was seeing some action from tourers and those willing to hike up, reports were that it was the best run on the hill as yesterdays hard icy crust had loosened to nice Spring Snow.
On the Plateau the Poma run is complete and being well groomed, but it is narrow. Snow is expected to firm up overnight, but soften quickly first thing once groomed with the freezing level expected to be around the Summit. So soft granular snow expected. Old Mugs Alley provides ski to the door access to the Plateau Cafe.
If you want to get up for a slide this week, make it Thursday. Wet, wild and mild on Friday, so we could be back to the waiting game by the time much colder air returns late Hogmanay.
