Overnight snow showers put down enough fresh to allow the Lecht to patch up the Eagle and get the Grouse and Snowy Owl runs open from the Grouse Poma on Sunday. After a bit of work the beginner Magic Carpets also opened and with two now in place right by the back door of the Cafe it really is a superb option for learning, esp. for young ones when the snow is good.
Cover is thin, but there is a partial base on the Eagle and with mostly grassy slopes and good pisting it was giving some decent skiing and boarding under bluebird skies on Sunday.
Monday should see the Grouse Poma, Snowly Owl Chairlift, Eagle Poma on the main slopes and for beginners the Magic Carpets and the Kestra Poma for those advancing from the nursery slopes to a slightly longer green.
Clear and frosty overnight should keep the surface conditions excellent for the morning and a dry bright start on Monday is forecast, SE winds will freshen in the afternoon as cloud cover increases late in the day, so an early start will get the best snow and brightest overhead.
