Thanks to Roger for these photos from around the Daylodge at the Cas Carpark on CairnGorm Mountain.
Since these were taken late on Friday afternoon, snow showers have continued to pile in and there looks to have been somewhere around 6 inches of snow up at the Ptarmigan Bowl level. Has anyone been out for a baseless slide / tour?
Forecasts indicate a cool period into at least the middle of next week, showers could continue to pile in from a Northerly quadrant, though exact wind direction will have a significant impact on precipitation totals for the Northern Cairngorms. GFS / NNM accumulated precipitation over the next 5 days indicate anything from 4-6 inches to upwards of 2 feet of further snow fall is possible.
