Looking Northwards along the road to Happy Valley.

Taking in the expanse of Rannoch Moor from the top of the Spring Run.

Spring Run great on Thursday with wind/skier packed powdery snow.

Old Mugs Alley has gained snow thanks to the downslope SW gales blowing snow at right angles through the fences.

Looking up the Main Basin which has filled out quite a bit compared to the start of the week.

Looking down Old Mugs Alkey from the Coire Pollach uptrack first thing in the morning.

Main Basin offering fantastic riding on machine packed powdery snow. Width and depth improved considerably.

Already plenty of debris and plenty more that could go as the temperature creeps up during Friday - keep away from the Flypaper area!

The stormy conditions of Wednesday blew themselves out on Thursday morning to give a cracking mid-week day on Meall a' Bhuiridh.

The upper and mid mountain have made significant gains though the yo-yoing temperature and snow level, plus periods of Storm Force winds driving snow lower than the freezing level suggested mean the surface conditions were pretty varied. Main Basin groomed up into machine packed powdery snow, while the Spring Run had windblown and skier tracked / packed fresh.

Because of the SW direction of the strongest winds, the Old Mugs Alley fences and Coire Pollach Tow caught a fair bit of snow when other areas at similar height were losing snow. So Old Mugs Alley is the best way to the mid-lifts from the Plateau Poma.

All Plateau Runs are complete but cover is thin and narrow in a few places particularly near the bottom of the Poma. It is hoped to open the Wall T-bar for the first time this season on Friday, that would speed up access to the upper mountain for more advanced riders.

Friday is a mixed bag in terms of the weather forecast, drizzly rain in the morning but should dry up at some point so afternoon may be better. At time of update Saturday was looking better, dry, brighter spells developing and light winds. Could be a good weekend in prospect, though more spring like snow conditions than Thursday.
