Winter arrived on CairnGorm Mountain late last week, with a few days of heavy snow showers, and considerable drifting. A slow redistrubtion of snow has continued over the weekend, though it was dry on Sunday and Monday this was sufficient to allow the Piste Bashers to be used for the first day this winter, with the result CairnGorm Mountain will kick off the 2005 Scottish Snowsports Season on Tuesday 21st December.
These photos were taken on Sunday, which was a superb cold crisp winter's day with unbroken sunshine and sub zero temperatures at all levels in the Central Highlands. Thanks to George Paton for the pics. If you have any pics from the night to share please sent them to reachhigher@winterhighland.com.
