The contrast from the overcast skies and poor visibility in the East, to the often blue sky above Meall a' Bhuiridh on Saturday is almost as marked as the stark contrast between the lower and upper slopes where the runs generally have good cover, and the mid-mountain area where the runs are thin, narrow and scoured, with icy hard snow.
The best sport is to be found in the Main Basin with covering of new snow overlying a good cover of firm snow. If you are looking for green slopes the lower Plateau Poma area is the best bet having considerably better cover than the slightly higher middle slopes such as Mugs Alley.
Still good sport to be had, but avoid the greens on the mid-mountain for a stress free run!
