Thanks to Doug Bryce for Tuesday’s photos from Glencoe. If you have been out in the mountains, send your photos to pix@winterhighland.com and share your powder day with everyone!!
Packed powder was the order of the day on many of the runs on Meall a’ Bhuridih on Tuesday, though the tops of the steeper upper runs have suffered some wind scouring and have harder snow, noticeably on the Fly Paper and the Spring Run, people have been traversing over from the Spring Run to the Fly Paper to miss out the top section which is still icy and dangerous, but the lower half has excellent snow. Ballies and East Ridge were all full of deep wind-packed powder. Main Basin and the Wall are in great nick and offering some of the best on piste sport on the mountain.
Checkout the photo captioned ’Wagon Wheel’, a steep and little known off piste route over the back of Meall a’ Bhuiridh. Without giving away too many secrets it requires a long traverse out of around 15 minutes.
