Report
Initial impressions from the carpark looking at Sunnyside are probably not cheering up people as they arrive at Glenshee, but the snow is there on most of the main pistes. Indeed there is some good off-piste snow fields on the A93 side of the Carn Aosda T-bar for good skiers and boarders.
Snow cover on much of the area though is limited to between the fences, due to the strength of wind that accompanied the snow storms that put down the initial base. West facing aspects such as Sunnyside and Meall Odhar faired worst, with better cover on the Carinwell and Clunny areas.
Probably the best on piste sport is over in Fionn Coire, on the fenced runs next to the Pomas, but though Meall Odhar has uplift the runs are not complete and some walking is required on the way back to the Clunny/Tom Dearg Pomas. Most people who have gone over say it's worth it.
Thanks to Mark Barron for the photos from Sunday. If you have been out on the piste, please send your pics to pix@winterhighland.com and help keep this service as up to date as possible.
