CairnGorm Mountain Summit AWS and Radio Mast entombed in Ice from last weeks rain. Why the Summit AWS is not reporting wind speed!!

A very icy view across the Cairngorm Plateau and the rim of the Northern Corries.

Thanks to Bob Kinnaird and CairnGorm Mountain Ltd for these photos from the Summit on Saturday showing the extent of the icing which occured following last weeks freezing rain events.

The Mast to the left of the Summit AWS Hut is a triangular tubular structure and is not solid.

Little wonder neither of the weather stations is reporting wind data at present.
