Remaining snow on the White Lady and M1 from the Base Station. M1 still just passable, by going in and out of the fence line.

Looking up the 105 from just above the main merge with the Cas. Traverse and 105 both in decent shape and well pisted.

Looking up a narrow and banked Gunbarrel, riding like a natural 1/4 pipe, fun when it softens, scary in the morning. Final approach to the middle is very thin - go slowly.

Ptarmigan Restaurant and sledgers at the top of the sledge park.

Looking up to the Ptarmigan Traverse from the top section of the Ciste Fairway. Fairway complete and well pisted, between 2 to 3 machine widths.

Ptarmigan as dusk falls on Christmas Eve.

Looking down Coire Cas to Glenmore late in the day. Coire Cas complete but narrow, tow loading at the bottom.

Having some festive fun in the Sledge Park. This will be very busy from boxing day!

A fine day weatherwise on Christmas Eve sets the scene for the coming days as high pressure dominates the weather. Despite mild daytime temperatures, what snow that remains is holding up well with the dry weather and much lighter winds.

CairnGorm Mountain is closed on Christmas Day (All facilities) and re-opens on boxing day at 9am. Christmas Day looks like having good overhead conditions for being out in the hills so if you are going for a wander, take care as the ground and remaining snow will be very hard underfoot despite mild air temperatures.

On the slopes no significant change for better or worse is likely before Boxing Day so it's likely to be as it was, with the Ciste and Ptarmigan Tow up top and the Coire Cas Tow on the middle slopes. Top to Sheiling riding is offering 1300ft of vertical descent. Snow starting firm with an icy crust but softening later, though it may be more firm packed throughout the day later in the week.

Sledge Park has been well maintained by the Piste Bashers and is likely to be busy between Christmas and New Year, so be up the hill early to book a slot!
