A wild and wintry day on CairnGorm Mountain on Thursday. With a strong North Westerly wind blowing in Snow showers. Significant drifting, the air was often full of blowing snow reducing visibility.
Drifting means the snow accumulations are being heavily focused, so though overall falls have not been huge, there has been good accumulations of new snow that has greatly freshened up the open terrain,
Wind restricted uplift to the Cas Tow and Funicular, Traverse, 105 and full length of the Cas catching fresh. White Lady and M1 starting to fill in, but more needed to plug the gaps, but these areas to have a base to build from. Thanks to H11lly for the photos.
