The best mode of transport for the Glenmore Road this morning.
Looking down over the Carpark Runs and Sheiling Trainer Tow, loaded with machine packed fresh snow.
New snow on a packed base, and that was just the road up to Glenmore.
Just about 5pm and the light fading on CairnGorm, Sunday promises better visibility.
Forestry Commission visitor centre at Glenmore on Saturday morning. If only the lifts went down to here !!
The Hayfield, never mind the sledges, bring the fat powder skis. Please think about where you park here, the ski road was a shambles with parked cars just about blocking it.
The Cas Tow does it's thing in a rare glimpse up the Gunbarrel. Superb snow, will be so sweet when you can see it.
Outside the Top Station, no one will be going in the M1 side of the main entrance today!
Iced up anemometer at the Scottish Ski Club Hut Balcony and if that mountain of snow grows any more the webcam wont see out!
The lower slopes and Carpark Tow from outside the DayLodge.
In flat light, 'head for the trees' they say. These hardy Scots Pines by the Daylodge Poma will have to do.
Looking out to Glenmore and part of Loch Morlich from outside the SSC Hut at the foot of the East Lady.

Overnight the snow showers once again packed in giving another 12 inches or so fresh powder, with substantial new drifts to clear on the access road.
This and the strong wind early on that continued to re-fill the road delayed the opening till just before lunchtime, but by the time the ploughs had won the battle with the carpark, the road was just about black from Glenmore Gates.
All runs on the Cas side were available and have great cover with loads of scope for off-piste lines and with moderate drifting this evening there will be plenty of fresh tracks to be had Sunday.
The snow is superb and when you can see it (which should be the case on Sunday) CairnGorm Mountain will be simply superb. The lower slopes are at least as good as the best of mid Jan last season and the mid-mountain is getting close to the amazing mid April conditions last year.
White Lady was great fun Saturday, it will be mindblowing when the visibility is good. Lots of off piste lines on the East Lady and above the Daylodge.
All runs to the Cas Carparks superb. Experts can ski to the Ciste Carpark on deep untracked powder, but don't go down by the Laogh Mor Return if the East Wall is closed, the traverse into Laogh Mor can slide down the gullies!
It's going to be busy Sunday, so arrive early to beat the morning rush. Please send photos to pix2009@winterhighland.info .
