First taste of winter for the Summit AWS.

First lying snow ahead of the 2009 season at the top of the Ptarmigan Tow.

October arrived with a plunge from the North bringing the first lying snowfalls of the upcoming 2009 winter season to CairnGorm Mountain.

Snow was initially confined to the highest levels, but by Friday morning there was a dusting down to the Daylodge Level with a further covering on the upper slopes.

Winter is getting near and another sure sign of that fact, dates are confirmed for Warren Miller's Children of Winter in the North of Scotland, so get your tickets now!!
