The Gunbarrel has actually improved in terms of skiability over the weekend storm cycle.
Looking down the Ciste Fairway, complete but narrow with new snow on a firm but grippy base.
Looking down the top of the 105 from the Traverse corner. Drifting of the little fresh snow that was around.

Finally the wind let up on Tuesday and Wednesday promises a day of light winds and plenty of bright and sunny weather, so a good day to get out for a mid-week slide.
Despite limited cover and terrain, there is still top to mid-station riding offering up 1300ft of vertical descent from the top of the Ptarmigan to the foot of Coire Cas.
Ptarmigan Runs and Ciste Fairway open up top, but both are narrow. There is a route via the Traverse, 105 and Coire Cas Gunbarrel to the middle. The Gunbarrel is actually easier to ski than prior to the storms and despite over an inch of rain on Sunday has made a net gain that has smoothed out the previously excessive cross gradient. Surface conditions have also eased, now grippy firm packed snow rather than icy hard pack, plus a light cover of fresh on top.
