Report
Blizzard conditions almost constantly on Saturday at base level at Glencoe with the wind frequently going ballistic in spells of heavier snow meant no staff managed to get up onto the mountain during the day.
Radar data suggests upwards of 18 inches of snow has now fallen over the past 24 hours, but given the powdery nature of the snow even at low elevation and the Severe Gales the situation on the hill is a complete unknown. There may well be some impressive accumulations, but more exposed parts of the hill scoured clear of new snow - it will be first light on Sunday before a fuller picture of the situation is available.
Lift access to the upper mountain will depend on whether the Wall T-bar uptrack is usable. Please check official reports in the morning.
Snowsports School can run beginner lessons on snow at base level on the dryslope.
UPDATE: As of 11pm the A82 snowgates have reopened. Road to ski centre difficult with drifting snow, wind should ease pre-dawn.
