Snow has been accumulating gradually throughout April from the top of the Gunbarrel upwards, there is now ride anywhere cover on the upper mountain with total cover across the Top Basin.
There had been around 18 inches of snow over the past week which fell to lower levels, thus top to Daylodge riding was possible over recent days though the cover on the Carpark runs was thin and baseless, so it required care.
From mid-mountain up conditions were good and from around 3000ft the conditions were pretty spectacular for the end of April, particularly with bluebird weather.
However it was also fairly spectacularly busy, though queues on the tows were not outrageous, probably because of the number of people who hiked / skinned up on seeing how busy the carparks were and those who gave up and went away with the parking shambles.
