Something of a one day weather window on Wednesday gave a pretty decent day's riding thanks to several inches of overnight snow falling in much lighter winds.
There is now a reasonable base in the Main Basin and Spring Run on the upper slopes, plus the middle runs, though still a bit narrow in places most critical areas are now filled.
On Wednesday Summit to moor riding was available with the Red Access Run seeing a fair bit of action giving the full 2400ft of vertical. Decent on the top 2/3rds above 'Carnage Corner' - which was a bit more interesting, then thin but doable back to the carpark.
Milder conditions on Thursday reverted to colder air with snow showers later on Friday. Forecast indications looking ahead are much more promising for the week leading up to the start of the half term period than they have been.
