A few people earned some pre season turns on the slopes of Meall a' Bhuiridh today, and they certainly had to be earned with the walk up starting from the base with the Access Chair closed for refurbishment and electrification.
Main Basin, Upper Happy Valley are doable, but conditions are variable and the climb up is hard going with icy areas, breakable crust and some deep powder drifts.
The mountain webcams are offline due to a cable fault in the network at the top of the Access Chair, it's hoped this can be resolved on Monday morning.
Freeze / thaw cycling expected over the coming week with further periods of snow, after a milder day on Thursday early model indications are looking for a fairly big storm with potential for significant snow and very heavy drifting going into next weekend. Keep an eye on the weather forecasts, but things could well change.
