Looking down the Traverse as a tourer skins up.

Skier tracked soft fresh snow on the M1 RaceTrack.

Heading for the Cas from the M1 via Horizon Road.

The lower portion of the 105 was beautiful machine packed snow, and hardly a soul going that way!

Enjoying autumnal sun and snow in the Sledge Park.

Looking up the Ptarmigan Traverse. Piste bashers out trying to pack down the Top Basin snow.

Looking down the Ciste Fairway and West Wall Poma to the M2 cut off. Lovely pisted corduroy.

Lochan Na Beinne stands out amongst the perfect white lower hills, from the Ciste Fairway.

The M2 Motorway - well pisted sweet snow to the top of the DLP.

Meall a' Bhuachaille viewed from the steeper pitch of the M2 near the Aonach Poma.

Looking towards Lurcher's Gully from the Daylodge Poma Run.

Boarders dropping off the Traverse on a short cut to the 105.

Decision time on the Carpark Run. Thin about the Sheiling, but the Carpark Run was a much better option than the Home Road.

Heading down Coire Cas, machine groomed new snow.

Boarder heads down the loaded Ciste Fairway on route to the M2. Loagh Mor Traverse beyond was seeing some action.

Gearing up outside the Top Station, looking over to the ridge beyond the Ptarmigan.

Report
Another fantastic very early season day with great overhead and long sunny spells and just a little hazy high level cloud. A slight skin first thing on the snow quickly softened to give great surface conditions, with all the main Cas side runs seeing loads of action even though only the Traverse/105/Cas route was pisted.

The M1 RaceTrack out via Horizon Road, then down the lower 105 was the pick of the middle routes, with the snow tracked by sweet to ski on the RaceTrack. White Lady was more chopped up, but it and the East Lady were all getting plenty of attention.

The M2 was well pisted to the top of the Daylodge Poma where the run was unpisted, but skier packed snow made it a fairly decent run back to the base station and well worth it for the M2. Even the Loagh Mor Return to the Ciste Carpark was see action, but with no shuttle bus it was a hitch or hike back round to the Cas side.

CairnGorm Mountain is now in it's annual shutdown and all uplift is closed till 6th December. The Daylodge and Christmas Market will be open daily through till then. Photos by Winterhighland - check Public Reports and forum for more pix.
