Report
Once again, a cold but largely dry day over the Northern Cairngorms, as witnessed by today's selection of photos from CairnGorm Mountain.
As can be seen from the photos the ground is frozen, there is a patchy base high up, and it wouldn't take much snow to get at least the Ptarmigan back in operation. Indeed if the ground remains frozen, and what little base there is remains in some of the smaller burn courses, it wouldn't take a great deal of now fall at all to get the Top Basin and even a route to the middle. However even that seems to be a distant hope at the moment, there is still a reasonable amount of cold days in the forecasts, but cold at the moment seems to equal dry!
We can do nought but wait and watch, and the odd snow dance, yes some are very odd, but we keep trying none the less. Today's photos from George and Helen. Please send us your photos to pix@winterhighland.com .
