Report
Friday lacked the blue sky and sun of Thursday, but there was further snow showers to top up the powder, and more snow showers are likely throughout the night and indeed through Saturday, though there may be some bright or sunny spells. There is a general cover of powdery snow, and it's possible to ride across much of the mountain well beyond the actual runs, with all runs on the Cas side and Top Basin complete, excellent sport for all abilities.
The hill fog and flat light kept most closer to the main pistes on Friday, so there will still be plenty of untracked powder to find on Saturday morning, esp on the East Lady, and between the M1/Traverse and Coronation Wall, though don't head to far out towards the Headwall as there is a high avalanche risk. All runs to the Daylodge are complete, and all uplift from the Cas Car Park is scheduled to run on Saturday so queues shouldn't be to bad for those who can get up using the surface lifts. The ticket office will be open from 8am, get there early to beat the rush, you don't want to be queuing while others track up your lines....
Thanks to Nigel Webber for Friday's photos. Please send your photos to pix@winterhighland.com or alternatively you can post your own report and upload photos to our public reports server.
