While the focus has been on the East with the 'Gorms catching the heaviest snow, Nevis has been quietly getting topped up with light powdery snow, and while the new snow depths are not as big as the East, Nevis had more runs complete and a much more extensive base than the Eastern Areas prior to this week. This means there is now some superb sport to be had, esp on the upper and middle mountain with packed powdery snow, and even some powder to be found. Lower slopes have improved with a general wider cover of fresh dry snow, and there is good beginner areas on the Lower button tows.
Still some thin areas at the foot of the mountain, but all in all probably the best day of the season so far on Thursday, and a chance of some new snow tonight, with good sunny spells and some snow showers for the weekend. Get up there.
