Coire Cas retains only narrow patches, but if they can hold out they are in the bits that matter most for getting the base going.

Report
A brief period of Rainfall on Thursday night was the final straw for the Ptarmigan Bowl and the run is now broken in a couple of places. The snow that remains is now very hard and icy, it won't thaw easily, but milder conditions are expected to persist in the middle and later part of this week, and though the snow is hard there isn't much off it.
Even though limited in scope it's the start of a base, in some key areas too and the ground is fairly solid as well, so hopefully some of it will hang around.
Would not take much more snow to get snowsports underway in the Top Basin, but probably more than the few showers that are forecast. Milder temps might soften the remaining pack on Tuesday, but it's likely the Ptarmigan is beyond patching at present.
Back to waiting and watching, but whatever happens the early snow, even though thawing has helped lower ground temps.
