Report
A selection of photos from CairnGorm Mountain on Wednesday, where there are still some large areas of hard snow on the Plateau, but in the Snowsport Area the cover is much more limited. Snow largely falling on North winds resulted in greater accumulations on Southerly Aspects in late November/early December.
The Ptarmigan Bowl wouldn't require a huge amount of new snow to allow the piste bashers to plug the gaps, but the limited base would be wrecked if this was attempted without additional snow. The Traverse remains mostly complete down into Coire Cas.
Fingers crossed for new snow soon. Photos by George Paton. Please send your photos to pix@winterhighland.com .
