Report
The snow eased, the clouds started to clear, and Monday turned into something of a Blue Sky powder day late on as even the wind started to ease back. Sunday's storm saw heavy snow fall on storm force winds from the South through to South East, and while high winds don't bring the all over cover we had earlier in March, there is no better direction for filling in the natural runs and gullies that matter on CairnGorm Mountain.

The Cas Gunbarrel was transformed in 24hours, from still having the burn showing in places to now being flat and pisted! The M1 and Lady are loaded with fresh powdery snow, esp the lower the Lady, and the M2 and Daylodge are in superb shape for returning to the Base Station. The Carpark Runs esp the Burn side have filled in to fairly near a fence depth, and there is excellent nursery areas around the Sheiling Tow as well as up top.

Fluctuating Temperatures due to a weak inversion layer on Monday softened the snow pack on the lower slopes so some consolidation has taken place as the temperature has now fallen back, but loose snow continues to drift in off the Plateau. Excellent sport for all abilities from Top to Bottom, through a sickie and get up there!
