A sight to warm the soul, a sprinkling of autumnal snow on the mountains at the start of October.
CairnGorm Mountain had it's first snow of 'winter' 2010 on the 1st October, with further fresh snow for Saturday 3rd after a milder interlude on Friday.
Snow lay down to an altitude of 2900ft, so not quite as low as this time last year when snow lay for a while on the Scottish Ski Club Hut balcony, but none the less interesting that the first snow should arrive in the first few days of October two years running. Fingers crossed for a snowy 2010.
Thanks to H11lly (Helen) for the photos, visit the CairnGorm Snow thread in the forum for more images, webcam captures and snow discussions.
