The overnight cold front which pushed South delivered 4-6 inches of fresh snow to CairnGorm Mountain, which will be the only option for a mid-week slide. New snow overlying a spring snow base lower down and a firmer base on the upper mountain.
Some areas of fantastic fresh tracks to be had, the Fiacaill area had nice snow this afternoon and the East Lady and Coronation Wall were well tracked up, but giving good sport for advanced riders..
Still great riding for all ability levels with extensive cover still giving pretty much ride anywhere cover on the upper mountain and Top to Daylodge riding still on offer via the various options on the Carpark Runs. Excellent nursery areas in the Ptarmigan Bowl and longer green runs for early intermediates off the Ciste Tow. The Traverse is a banked out motorway down onto the Cas, so it's possible to ski to the Daylodge via green runs only.
White Lady and M1 RaceTrack are fresh snow on firm bumps at the top, giving way to a curious but pretty quick mix of fresh and spring snow adding to the bumps lower down.
The forecast is remaining cool for the coming days with a mix of sunny spells and snow showers. See Friday's and Wednesday's CairnGorm photos for much more
