Coire Cas Gunbarrel at the end of the afternoon.

View over the Ciste Tow to the Ptarmigan Restaurant from high on the East Wall.

Ptarmigan Bowl and Ptarmigan Tow from the upper reaches of the East Wall.

Wide Angle shot of the Ciste Bowl, great moderate off-piste on the uppermost part of the East Wall.

Air in the Ptarmigan Terrain Park.

The obligatory top of the Ptarmigan Tow shot!

Ptarmigan Tow doing it's thing on Sunday 16th May.

Air off the battleship box rail in the park.

Skier heads through the Ptarmigan Terrain Park, Top Station beyond.

Flat-down-splat rail!

That is not high enough to complete a flip....

Traverse still banked out, big depth in parts.

Loch Morlich from near the top of Coire Cas.

Mogul Bashing on the White Lady - best snow and fun again today.

Do you think she's impressed or not? Two ptarmigan between the Cas and 105.

Looking over to the Ptarmigan Tow and Marquis Well's snow field beyond to the Summit.

Report
A couple of light overnight showers had cleared through by lift opening time and the day remained dry on CairnGorm Mountain during lift operating hours under part cloudy skies, despite downpours not far North.

The snow on the mid-mountain runs remained more spring like and quicker than last weekend, esp on the White Lady which was offering up great granular spring snow and growing bumps esp on the steeper pitches.

The Traverse, 105 and Coire Cas continue to offer a good long run from top to mid-station for intermediates up, though the Gunbarrel was getting more moguled during Sunday.

Coronation Wall again offered up steep smoother spring snow, a good portion of which can be accessed off the Ptarmigan Tow by holding a high traverse. As always though the full pitch remained the preserve of those prepared to do some leg work to gain extra vertical on the Summit Path.

Another great offering for those prepared to hike, down this time if you arranged transport from the Ciste Carpark, was the Ciste Gully - still very wide and complete to the West Wall boardwalk with smooth beautiful granular spring snow.

The Ptarmigan and Ciste Bowls retain excellent cover and the Ptarmigan Terrain Park was a hive of activity all day.

Check out Saturdays Pix from the Slopes for more photos from this weekend. For those with touring kit, a warm, but largely dry week is on the cards for the Cairngorms, still fantastic high level cover. With much higher temperatures, the spring thaw is set to resume, so there will be less snow next weekend, but all being well, the party resumes, next Saturday at 10am!
