Report
A fine afternoon for a slide with light winds and increasingly bright overhead conditions with some late afternoon sunshine.
The best snow during the day was on Coire Cas; not at all sticky. Up top the snow was quite sticky at lunchtime, but as Top Basin began to fall into shadow a ground frost was setting in and the snow getting scrunchy underfoot. An overnight firm up should be followed by the snow softening on Tuesday and the surface conditions are likely to benefit from the freeze/thaw with less sticky and more spring like snow.
The Top Basin runs all retain a good width of cover and plenty of depth including the Ciste Bowl. The old Link Lift Poma which has been moved to outside the Ptarmigan Restaurant was getting it's buttons put on today and looks more or less ready to be used in anger for the first time in a number of years and for the first time in it's new home.
Still possible for good skiers and boarders to reach the Mid Station via the Cas Gunbarrel, but the Zig Zags are broken. Thanks to Helen (H11lly) for additional photos inc. from the Summit.
