Nevis Range defied the forecast and the windy conditions on many mountain areas to be the only area open on Monday with fairly light winds for the most part, certainly compared to what was blowing in the East!
Around 6 inches of fresh with deeper accumulations behind suitably aligned fences is giving the best riding on the upper mountain where the Goose, Warrens and Summit have a good base under the fresh powdery snow. Complete runs to the foot of the Quad and Snowgoose Restaurant giving the full 1900ft of vertical, but early season style conditions below the Goose owing to lack of base, beware of just hidden rocks etc until the snow packs down with use.
Ample terrain for all abilities with the lower nursery slopes open around the Gondola Station with machine packed powder giving very easy going surface conditions for learning on. Thanks to Mark from the Summit Park crew for the photos. Have you been out riding? Please send us your photos to pix2007@winterhighland.info or post a snow or park report in the Public Reports.
