An excellent day on Wednesday with lots of bright sunny weather and plenty of blue sky and fairly light winds. The best conditions for good skiers/boarders lise further out on the Sunnyslope side on Meall Odhar. The Home Run provides a longer pisted blue run back to the foot of the Tom Dearg Poma (which is mainly for access) from the top of the Meall Odhar Poma, but there is lots of scope for varying interesting lines through the hummocky natural terrain on Meal Odhar.
For intermediates Sunnyside is offering good blues with generally good cover between the fences and scope for some alternate lines outside the fences. Much better than over the back on Tom Dearg, this is mainly being used for access to/from Meall Odhar.. On the Cairnwell Side action is limited to the lower lifts, the Dink Dink for beginners and Claybokie which has good cover thanks to a base of machine made snow between the fences for snowplough turners.
Aspects that were exposed to the full force of the weekend storm, such as higher parts of the Cairnwell and Carn Aosda. Photos from forum member HTH. Please send your photos to pix2007@winterhighland.info and remember to check out the public reports section for more info/photos.
