A blowy but colder day with snow showers coming in from time to time from Daylodge up, along with some spells of blue sky. Unfortunately camera took exception to filling with snow and the cold so only a limited number of photos from the first run or so!
A further snap thaw/freeze last night has further consolidated the base and the snow pack is now fairly hardpacked, where pisted and getting polished by the wind on the M1 it's fairly icy hardpack, the Lady was better with more grippy snow and fresh windblown snow in the burn gully and behind the fences. All three access routes onto the Lady proper are fully complete.
Best riding was on Coire Cas today, partly because it was well sheltered which meant heavier skiing traffic spreading out the drifts to give a more uniform surface of skier packed / windblown powder on a firm base. Fiacaill also pretty decent but a bit scoured at the top of the double fenced section.
With milder air coming in the best surface conditions will likely be where was hardest today as the hard pack breaks up into more spring like snow, recent deposits of unconsolidated fresh snow are likely to be fairly sticky for a time. Very high winds forecast, so check lift status in the morning. Photos from Winterhighland.
