A bluebird Friday morning and early afternoon, but as the afternoon progressed the wind ratcheted up and clouds started scudding overhead (they were in a hurray).
Firday's mission was the installation of a new ultrasonic AWS at the Summit of the Main Basin, got a gust of 73mph shortly after turning it on this afternoon. For once we're quite excited about summer because this is the first of various summer projects, be sure to keep checking back through the summer to see what Winterhighland is up to.
Sadly if as has been the all to frequent story this season, the bluebird Friday has given way to driving rain this evening and the forecast isn't the best for the weekend. A shame because there's still great turns to be earned, plus it's opening weekend for the Red Downhill track on Saturday.
If you fancy joining the keen for a mid-summer slide, the plan is weather permitting to spin the Cliffhanger Chair to help get people up to the snow on the morning of Saturday 21st June. See you there.
