Fresh packed powder corduroy on the Low Road.

Looking down Rankins Return, now accessible from the Cliffhanger Chair.

Full width cover on Old Mugs Alley and some moderate windblown powder on the Coire Pollach Run to skiers right of the tow.

Hero packed powder corduroy on Old Mugs Alley early on Thursday.

Mugs Alley being groomed ahead of the Cliffhanger Chairlift making its season debut.

Good riding all the way to the Carpark now available.

Decent cover all the way to the bottom of the Access Chair, but it is baseless so don't do tight sharp turns!

Best route down was top of the fenced Red Access Run, then a gentle traverse out the Red Bike Track to Weasel Gully.

Excellent freshies setting off on the low level Red Access Run.

OK lets do this! :)

Plateau Poma Run improved and mostly full width.

Still chucking it down when the lifts opened, but then the Sun came out to give a cracking day.

Looking up Rankins Return to the Flypaper and Spring Run.

Around 7 inches of fresh at the base overnight.

Around 7 inches of snow fell at the base overnight and it was still coming down fairly steadily when the lifts opened on Thursday morning.

That's brought the accumulation up to around 15 to 18 inches on the mountain in the previous 60 hours, which has transformed the cover on the Plateau area runs all of which are now in superb shape for some early season riding.

The Cliffhanger Chairlift made it's season debut this afternoon, providing access to the full length of Mugs Alley and out East on the Plateau to Rankins Return (or beyond to Weasel Gully).

With the fresh snow overnight there is now a decent route to the base, people were lapping the fenced low level Red Access Run, but the best option was to take the top of this and then traverse out the Red Bike Track before dropping into Weasel Gully then a mellow cruise out along the new track to the Carpark at 1200ft.

Even without the Main Basin T-bar thats 1600ft of lift served vertical on offer. Forecast is mild and then stormy beyond this weekend, if you can get up Saturday it should be a cracker - weather may start to turn during Sunday.
