Report
Glencoe will restart their 2017/18 season on Saturday morning with the triangular area of Plateau runs and tows back up and running giving a mix of green and easy blue grade terrain.
Snow is machine groomed windblown powder, so expect great forgiving surface conditions to ease you into the new season, but it is typical early season conditions with baseless cover on the Plateau so some thin and narrow areas are to be expected. Gusty winds and squally snow showers mean the snow situation is continuing to evolve.
The Plateau Sledge Park has some big drifts which will be bashed out to give a good sledging slope by the Cafe, wind should moderate through Saturday morning to give a fine but cold weekend for a scenic chair ride and sledging.
Do wrap up very well, it remained sub zero at the carpark all day on Friday and around -6 to -8°c at the mid mountain level. Even a light wind will give a significant wind chill.
The Red Access Run was skied on Friday afternoon, top third is OK, bottom third is doable, but the middle third was reported to be horrible - but may improve overnight with further snow showers and drifting.
