Report
A jack-knifed HGV South of the access road closed the A82 early Saturday and that along with the uncertain weather forecast looks to have deterred or diverted quite a lot of people with a quiet Saturday for the first day of Half Term.
A complicated weather picture saw high winds moderate abruptly just before opening time after a period of heavy snow at all levels, the freezing level then rose to around the Rescue Station for a number of hours. Mix of wet snow / sleet at the Plateau, but fresh snow accumulated all day on the upper mountain with some fantastic freshies reported off the Main Basin T-bar - though with snow and wind frequently reducing visibility relatively few ventured to the top.
Snow is again falling to the base of the Access Chair this evening and frequent snow showers are expected overnight into Sunday. Some brighter spells possible, but also some very heavy and possibly thundery showers on Sunday. Moderate winds will increase in strength around and within the shower cells, so a risk of some wind disruption - check AM for latest.
Good cover on all mountain runs, all were open Saturday except the Flypaper. Excellent riding for all ability levels.
