A brighter day than expected in the West on Sunday and with the winds swinging round to the East on Monday that rather sets the scene for the week ahead. While day to day detail will vary depending on exact wind direction & speed, West is the best bet to get the brighter overhead.
Extensive snow cover continues to extend below the top of the Access Chair, so fantastic snow cover across the mountain. Even on the Plateau, there is still a huge depth and width with the Plateau in the best shape for a week into April since before 2010.
With all the Plateau greens being groomed daily there is lots of terrain for every ability at Glencoe.
After last weeks big dump of fresh snow and the arrival of more spring like temperatures the snow started Saturday slow and sticky, but on the areas which were being more heavily ridden or repeatedly groomed it pretty much had the stickiness thrashed out of it by Saturday afternoon. Thus on Sunday the Spring Run, Main Basin and Happy Valley had great snow on Sunday from the off.
However off the beaten track was still slow, though not as hard going as Saturday. While the snowpack is gradually drying out, a freeze/thaw or two would help the steeper stuff off the prepared areas as because it was getting lighter use wasn't getting skied into condition, so there was a bit of a positive feedback going on that the better runs got progressively better because thats where people were sticking too!
