The light and patchy rain forecast unfortunately wasn't that light or that patchy this afternoon, giving an overcast day with mist in the valley and at times in the Ptarmigan Bowl.
Surface conditions have loosened up in the milder air with granular snow over a hard packed base which was giving a few slicker patches were exposed. A good solid but quite narrow base on the Ptarmigan, and the run had the feel of being much narrower with the very thin cosmetic cover beyond the base which was present on Sunday having thawed in the milder weather.
Only the Ptarmigan Tow open, the Fairway is still hanging in there, but the Ciste Tow needs more around the loading area. Snow will become very hard packed as temperatures drop during Wednesday. New snow should follow to at least freshen things up.
