A bright and sunny start to Tuesday with bluebird conditions for a time in the morning, giving superb riding for the lucky few. The Afternoon saw skies cloud over, but that just meant more fresh snow!
All main runs up on the mountain are complete with excellent cover from the foot of the Cliffy and Wall T-bars upwards with all the recent fresh lying on a deep and well consolidated base. This all adds up to fantastic riding for more advanced riders who can just pick their line and go play.
For early intermediates Mugs Alley provides a well pisted windy green off the chairlift so you don't need to battle with surface lifts every run and you can gradually work up to some of the short cuts. If you've mastered Mugs, the Main Basin is wide and flat with the Haggis Trap out of sight, thus for those getting to grips with blues it's a good run if you've mastered the T-bars and for more advanced riders it's carving heaven.
The Flypaper will open if snow stability and visibility permit, this is being assessed daily. The stuff beyond (Baillies Gully and the East Ridge etc.) aren't officially recognised runs - if in doubt ask.
Glencoe is closed Wednesday and will re-open Thursday weather permitting. Photos from Daviemountaintroll, dub_01 and Ross McKinnon. Please send your photos to pix2008@winterhighland.info .
