Report
A covering of fresh windblown snow on a firm to hard packed base after the refreeze. Some further snow showers through the day gave alternating spells of bright sunny weather and snow with very poor visibility esp higher up.
Snow loss in the very mild spring like weather mid-week was most noticeable on lower runs where the base was narrow and thin in places, but the upper mountain and Back Corries retain an extensive base.
Accumulations of snow through the Easter Cold period underwent their first real thaw mid-week, this lead to very sticky wet snow which in turn refroze to give a hard and in places slick base, leading to icy patches.
Back Corries and the Braveheart Chair will be assessed daily and will operate subject to surface conditions, snow stability and overhead conditions, but there is plenty good riding on the front and summit area.
