Report
While the upper slopes of Meall a' Bhuiridh enjoyed another day of blue skies and unbroken sunshine on, mist trapped by the temperature inversion carpeted Rannoch Moor occasionally rising to near the top of the Cliffhanger Chairlift, but even on the lower slopes it eventually broke up and cleared.
However the beautiful day at the top was in stark contrast to the gloomy start under the low cloud and mist at the bottom and nothing quite lifts the spirits like thinking its a grey day to suddenly just break through into the blue sky world on the chairlift!
Possible to ski to the foot of the Plateau giving the full on mountain vertical though the Plateau Poma run is narrow in places.
The snow will again start firm to hard packed, but where pisted and/or use is heavier and the sun gets to work the surface should loosen up to give spring snow, though even on these favoured runs some scrapped patches may develop later.
Thanks to daviemountaintroll for the photos from Glencoe on Friday. There are more photos from most days this week in the Public Reports so check out there as well. Please send your photos to pix2008@winterhighland.info .
