Early morning mist lifted to form an inversion layer mid-mountain that burned off by mid morning to give a simply inspirational days riding on the 'Gorm.
The queues were long at times, but a bit of exploration and longer runs that took longer to return to the lifts made for more turns, more sliding and less queuing.
Basically the whole area is skiable, windward aspects are scoured higher up, but all runs are complete, with a mix of wind blown/wind packed powder off the main runs and skier/machine packed powder on piste. Some crusty stuff lower down off-piste where a slight freeze thaw had affected the surface, but this broke down to skier tracked packed powder with use.
Fantastic Day, the photos show the conditions. Pick of the day, the slopes and bowl below the Aonach Ridge. Photos by Winterhighland. More in Public Reports.
