All the main runs on the Western side of the A939 (Cafe side) are in good shape with a full cover of what is now firm packed snow between the fences, after a snap thaw/freeze cycle on Wednesday night. Just the odd worn bit right on the crest of the hill, but it all links together well.
Beginner runs are in good shape with firm packed, but well groomed snow. Lecht will be a better bet for novices and early intermediates this weekend than CairnGorm, as the top hasn't been open this week due to strong winds and similar wind speeds are currently predicted for the weekend.
Thanks to OldRayner for the photos in the Public Reports.
